Verdure with Birds
Selected from the Victoria and Albert Museum Collection, this elegant Verdure Tapestry is one of our most popular designs. The Verdure is a classic tapestry style originating from France and Belgium in the 17th century. With their focus on verdant landscapes depicting flora and fauna, verdure tapestries were a popular decoration for the bourgeoisie before the arrival of wallpaper. Though the quality of this tapestry would suggest that it was commissioned for rather grander surroundings.
Our in-house designers have extended the sky and the trees, as well as embellishing the foreground to create a repeat panorama.
